Privacy Policy
This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and what we will never do with it. If anything here is unclear, email hello@hellomaxx.com and a real person will get back to you.
What we collect
We collect the information you give us when you sign up and use HelloMaxx:
- Account details — name, email, phone number, billing information.
- Conversation content — what you say to Maxx and what Maxx says back, including audio recordings, transcripts, and the photos you share with him.
- Memory entries Maxx has formed from your conversations.
- Family-account details if a family member sets up the account on someone's behalf.
- Basic technical information — device type, IP address, app version.
How we use it
Your data is used to make Maxx work for you specifically. That means:
- Generating Maxx's responses based on your conversation history and memory.
- Delivering reminders, voice messages, photos, and other features you've asked for.
- Sending you account and trial-related communications.
- Helping us understand how the product is performing in aggregate (e.g., total usage, error rates).
What we will never do
- We will never sell your data.
- We will never use your conversations as training data for AI models that serve other people.
- We will never share your conversation content with family members. They can see usage summaries (length of conversations, reminder delivery) but not what you said.
- We will never share photos in your family album outside that family.
- We will never claim to be a doctor, therapist, or lawyer.
Data retention
How long we keep your information depends on what it is and which plan you're on:
- Conversation history — Hello Daily: 30 days. Hello Always: 90 days. Hello Forever: 365 days.
- Long-term memory facts — kept indefinitely until you delete them or your account is closed.
- Account information — kept while your account is active and for 90 days after cancellation, then soft-deleted with the option to fully delete on request.
- Routine daily activity (e.g., "took pills") — kept for 7 days, then summarized or removed.
Your control
You can:
- Ask Maxx what he remembers about you, anytime.
- Edit any memory entry.
- Delete any memory entry, or delete all your memories.
- Export all your data through your account settings.
- Cancel your subscription with one tap. No retention games.
- Delete your account entirely. We process deletion within 30 days.
How we protect your information
We use industry-standard encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Audio files and photos are stored encrypted. Access to your data inside our company is limited to engineers actively working on the product, and we keep audit logs of internal access.
Service providers
HelloMaxx uses a small set of trusted third-party services to operate. These include AI providers for conversation generation and voice, payment processors for billing, email infrastructure, and cloud storage. We share only what's necessary for each provider to perform its function. Each is bound by data processing agreements and is not permitted to use your data for any other purpose.
Children
HelloMaxx is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have, we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a material way, we will notify you by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect.
